One man is killed and another man was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash that occurred east of South Shore in Codington County.
The names of the two drivers are not being released pending notification of their families. They were the only people involved.
A pickup was traveling west on South Dakota Highway 20 when it crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound pickup.
The driver of the eastbound pickup was not wearing a seatbelt. He was partially ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rescue workers had to extricate the driver from the other pickup. He was wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Watertown hospital. Charges are pending against that driver.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
