Woman arrested for Brookings burglary

Brookings police make an arrest in a Tuesday burglary.

Lt. Derrick Powers says it happened sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. yesterday at a residence on the 900 block of Tumbleweed Road.

He says the residents were gone and returned to find someone had forced their way in. Jewelry had been stolen.

The residents were able to identify a possible suspect and police located her at about 9:00 o’clock last night.

The 26-year-old Brookings woman was arrested for second-degree burglary, intentional damage to property and theft. Powers says she had some of the stolen items in her possession.
