Second report of an intruder in a Brookings home

Brookings police have a second report of a man entering a residence and police say the incidents may be related.

As we reported earlier, on incident happened at an apartment on the 100 block of Second Avenue South at about 3:30 Friday morning.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers says it also happened earlier that morning at a residence on the 500 block of Seventh Avenue.

Descriptions of the man are similar in both instances: a taller white male with a hooded sweatshirt.

In both instances, the man fled as soon as he was seen.

Powers says doors to the residences were unlocked in both cases. He advises people to lock their doors before going to bed.
