A Brookings Municipal Utilities worker is killed in a Friday evening work accident.
Brookings police say 45-year-old Paul Jonas of Brookings was working on a water
line on 200 block of Derdall Drive when the accident occurred.
Jonas was cutting the water line when the saw he was operating kicked back and
he was severely inured.
Jonas was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital where he was later
pronounced dead.
The accident was reported to police at about 6:41 Friday evening.
