A plea of guilty this afternoon from a Brookings man who had been
facing two counts of rape and three counts of sexual contact.
As part of a plea deal, 38-year-old George Green entered a guilty plea
to one count of sexual contact with a child under 16. The other counts
were dismissed.
Green admitted improperly touching a 6-year-old girl at his Brookings
residence in May of this year.
He'll be sentenced on January 31st and is facing a maximum penalty
of 15-years in prison and a $30,000 dollar fine. There is also a
mandatory minimum penalty of 10-years in prison.
The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation and a psycho-sexual
exam.
