Brookings police warn of a scam that is making the rounds.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers says several people have been contacted
by a man claiming to be with "Lifelock Security." The caller says they
have identified someone trying to use the victim's credit or debit card.

The caller then seeks personal or account information, claiming they
need it for the investigation.  Some people have released information
to the caller, including three who provided date of birth and credit
card data.

Powers says they have not yet found any evidence of accounts
being breached.
