HURON, S.D. (AP) - A Huron bar owner accused of raping at least
three girls after plying them with drinks is scheduled to appear in
court on Tuesday.
Werner Fajardo faces 15 counts, including rape in various degrees,
sexual contact with a person incapable of consenting and furnishing
alcohol to minors. He is scheduled to appear at the Beadle County
courthouse Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
The 34-year-old Sioux Falls man owns the El Cuervo bar in Huron.
He is being held in the Beadle County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
City leaders have scheduled a public hearing on Dec. 30 to
consider whether to recommend that the state Department of Revenue
yank Fajardo's liquor license.
