PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The city of Flandreau will be South Dakota's capital on July 1.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard is expected to participate in a main street walk, business tours around the city and a social hour. He will also host a roundtable lunch with local leaders to address Flandreau's needs.
Flandreau Mayor Mark Bonrud says this will be a remarkable opportunity to showcase the city and discuss the future of the community.
Flandreau is located in the eastern half of the state about 10 miles from the Minnesota border.
