Group Opposes Event Center

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A group has formed to publically oppose
a proposed $115 million events center in Sioux Falls.
The Citizens' Network Against the Events Center in Sioux Falls has been
organized by University of Sioux Falls instructor Bob Barclay.
Residents of South Dakota's largest city will vote on the center
Nov. 8. Barclay says he thinks it's a mistake for the city to take
on more debt.
The group Build It Now thinks a new events center would create
jobs and boost the economy. Manager Mike Knuth says the group has
raised more than $150,000 in the past month and could begin airing
commercials as early as next week.
