Halvorson charged in Brookings shotgun incident

Twenty-one-year-old Ryan Halvorson of Brookings is facing numerous 
charges related to the early Wednesday morning shotgun incident at a 
Brookings apartment.

Halvorson is alleged to have fired the gun at the door of the apartment.
There were four people inside at the time, two of whom were hit by 
either shrapnel from the door or pellets from the gun. They received
minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Halvorson had a court appearance this morning and is charged with four
counts of aggravated assault, one count of discharging a firearm
in an occupied structure, all felonies. He's also charged with two counts 
of simple assault, intentional damage to property and other misdemeanors.

Halvorson's bond is set at 20-thousand dollars cash or surety. He 
requested a court appointed attorney and is due back in court Monday
