HURON, S.D. (AP) - A Beadle County grand jury has indicted a
South Dakota bar owner accused of raping at least five girls after
plying them with drinks.
Werner Fajardo faces 15 counts, including rape in various
degrees and sexual contact with a person incapable of consenting.
The 34-year-old Sioux Falls man owns the El Cuervo bar in Huron.
He is being held in the Beadle County Jail on a $150,000 bond. His
next court appearance is set for Dec. 20.
City leaders have scheduled a public hearing on Dec. 30 to
consider whether to recommend that the state Department of Revenue
revoke or suspend Fajardo's liquor license.
