Memorial for Guard Member

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota National Guard soldier who
died in a noncombat accident in Afghanistan was celebrated for his
selfless sense of service.
Twenty-one-year-old Spc. Dennis Jensen died Aug. 16 from
injuries he suffered while working on a bridge project. Officials
say he was struck by two steel panels that fell from a forklift
when a securing strap broke.
Governor Dennis Daugaard spoke at his memorial Thursday.
Daugaard said although Jensen will be missed, he's sure the soldier
would want people to return soon to thinking about and protecting others,
because that is what he died for.
Jensen will be being buried with full military honors at Black
Hills National Cemetery on Friday.
Jensen was with the 200th Engineer Company.
