Midcontinent Expands Eastward

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota-based Midcontinent
Communications says it has completed its purchase of the Minnesota
and Wisconsin cable systems owned by New Jersey-based US Cable.
The systems serve about 33,000 customers and will expand
Midcontinent's reach eastward. The company already served about
250,000 customers in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.
Terms of the sale weren't disclosed. Midcontinent says work is
under way to connect the two networks. The company also has opened
another call center in West Fargo, N.D., to complement existing
centers in the South Dakota cities of Sioux Falls and Aberdeen.
