More testing for Yankton man accused of attempted murder
YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A judge has ordered more in-depth testing for a Yankton man accused of trying to kill his girlfriend.
Curtis Wilson allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in April, then fired a rifle into a neighbor's home when the woman fled there for safety. The neighbor was treated for minor injuries from flying debris.
Wilson has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, kidnapping and assault charges. A judge has agreed to a defense request that Wilson undergo psychological testing, after a psychiatrist concluded that Wilson might be suffering from a psychotic disorder.
Judge Glen Eng set the next hearing in the case for Dec. 16.
