ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - The president of the Northern Beef Packers plant in Aberdeen says he is still working for the company.
David Palmer said Thursday morning he had resigned, but later said he is still employed with the company. Palmer would not say why he made the earlier comment.
Contacted at the beef plant Thursday afternoon, Palmer told The Associated Press he has no comment on the issue.
The struggling company has laid off nearly all of its employees and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The beef plant is owned by Korean investors. Part-owner Oshik Song says he is going to South Korea shortly for an investors meeting.
