PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The Army Corps of Engineers says there are
no plans to increase water releases from Oahe Dam
because of heavy rains this week.
The corps over the weekend increased releases by 10,000 cubic
feet per second - to 160,000 cfs - in anticipation of the rains.
More than 2 inches fell in some parts of the Pierre-Fort Pierre
area on Monday and up to three more inches was expected Tuesday.
Jody Farhat with the corps says there is no indication at this
point that more releases from the dam will be necessary.
