A small plane is involved in an accident at the Brookings Airport.

The Brookings Fire Department responded to the scene at about
10:15 this morning. Fire Chief Darrell Hartmann says it happened
while the plane was trying to land.  He says it appears the plane
flipped and ended up in a bean field.

The pilot was able to get out on his own and reportedly only had
minor injuries.

There was no fire and no fuel spill.
