Porcupine man pleads not guilty to murder



    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a Porcupine man accused of a fatal stabbing on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.
 
     U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 27-year-old Lawrence Red Shirt appeared in court last week and pleaded not guilty.
 
     Authorities say Red Shirt is accused of killing another man by stabbing him multiple times on Nov. 8, 2013. The name of the victim was not released.
 
     A trial has been slated for Feb. 4, 2014.
