STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - The Meade County Sheriff's Office in western South Dakota says four teenagers are lucky to be alive after a vehicle pursuit that ended with a rollover.
The chase Thursday morning began when the teens allegedly stole beer from a Sturgis convenience store. Authorities say the chase involved six officers, covered about a dozen miles and reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. It ended when the teens' vehicle rolled on an Interstate 90 off-ramp.
The four teens suffered injuries that authorities say are not life-threatening. They were taken to a Rapid City hospital. Charges are pending.
