U OF M WBB COACH…The University of Minnesota has a new women’s basketball coach – and its not South Dakota State’s Aaron Johnston.
The Gophers have hired Marlene Stollings from Virginia Commonwealth as the replacement for Pam Borton – who was dismissed after a WNIT loss to SDSU.
Stollings has four seasons as a head coach on her resume, the last two at VCU. After the Rams went 11-19 her first year, they improved to 22-10 with a spot in the WNIT. Stollings guided a turnaround at Winthrop in 2011-12, too, when the Eagles posted their second winning season in the past 26 years of the program. She was the interim head coach at New Mexico State in 2002-03.
The 1998 graduate of Ohio University has also been an assistant at Mississippi, Saint Louis, Wright State, New Mexico State and Jacksonville.

MUSSELMAN A COACH…Arizona State associate head coach Eric Musselman is leaving the program to pursue other opportunities.
A former NBA head coach, Musselman spent the past two seasons on Herb Sendek's staff to learn the college game.
Musselman wants to become a head coach again and has been mentioned as a candidate for a few jobs in recent weeks.
Musselman, whose late father Bill was a longtime NBA coach, got his start as a coach at 23 with the CBA's Rapid City Thrillers and later became the head coach of the NBA's Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings.

STADLERS…The first golf major of the year – the Masters – starts Thursday in Georgia, with a father playing against his son.
The kid – Kevin Stadler – and his dad – former Masters champion Craig Stadler – will vie for the “Green Jacket”.  Kevin talked about what it was like as a kid, playing against Dad.  97621   :15   “sound fades”.
Craig talked about being paired with his son.  97622   :19   “a little different”.
   Former Masters champion Craig Stadler.
