The NCAA preliminary round (west site) is set to begin on Thursday, May 24 in Austin, Texas.

Vlastuin is set to compete in the high jump and long jump. Brinkmann is set to compete in the hammer throw.
Wirth repeated as champion in the high jump at the Summit League Outdoor Championships to qualify. Garner, two-time The Summit League's Outdoor Track and Field Women's Athlete of the Week, qualified with two school-record marks posted prior to the league meet. Garner set the record in the hammer at the Wayne State Classic in March. The 197 feet, nine inch mark was a school record by nearly 10 feet. The top mark of 173 feet, three inches in the discus added to the SDSU records at the USF Relays

VIKINGS IN NORWAY… Some football players and coaches from Augustana College in Sioux Falls are in Norway to teach the game to another culture.
Head Coach Mike Aldrich says players don't always have the chance to study in foreign countries because of the time commitment to practice and games. So Augustana arranged the trip to teach the finer points of American football in a foreign country.
Each of the 16 players and eight coaches are paying the $3,500 fee for the 10-day journey. Some of the players did their own fundraising, and each student-athlete receives one service credit for participating.
Aldrich says Norway was a logical choice considering Augustana's steep Norwegian heritage.
The Augustana contingent will spend two days organizing and running a practice for the Oslo Vikings.
