AURORA-WHITE…Colton Wendland struck out eight, walked one and hit one batter to earn the win for the Aurora A’s in a run-shorten 14-0 Eastern Dakota League amateur baseball game on Sunday in White.
Sawyer Caldwell had two hits and three RBI’s – including a two-out single in the fifth that gave Aurora a 6-0 lead.
Blaze Hanson added a single and double while Mike Graybill chipped in with a double as the A’s took advantage of 10 walks, three hit batsmen and six Wildcat errors.
Trever Petersen was saddled with the loss as he allowed seven runs – three earned – over six innings. Shortstop Ryan Byers singled and had a solid defensive effort for White.
Aurora, 9-1 and 8-1 EDL, travels to Dell Rapids to face PBR on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. contest.

FC BOARD…The Brookings Futbol Club board meeting will be held July 20th at 6:00pm at Fishback Soccer Park.
By-law changes and board structure changes will be voted on. Since high schools are now sanctioning soccer, the VP of high school soccer will be replaced by a VP of events.
Board positions that will be voted on are President, VP of League, Secretary, and new position VP of Events upon the vote approved board structure.
The annual financial report will be presented.

GATORADE TRACK…Sioux Falls Roosevelt thrower Jack Lembcke has been named the Gatorade South Dakota boys’ track and field Athlete of the Year. He is the first boys’ track and field honoree from Roosevelt High School.
Lembcke won a pair of individual state championships this spring and led the Roughriders to a second-place finish as a team at the Class AA state meet. Lembcke captured gold by hurling the shot put 60 feet, 0.75 inches and completed the double by launching the discus 179-9.
The 2014 Class AA Outstanding Field Performer at the state meet, his season-best effort in the discus (189-8) at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays ranked as the nation’s No. 16 performance among prep competitors in 2014.

SDGA HUSBAND-WIFE…Dustin and Ashley Horning of Rapid City won their first SDGA Husband-Wife Championship Sunday, shooting a 75 to finish at 148 and win by 10 shots over Aberdeen's Scott and Jackie Witlock.
The Witlocks shot a 79 for the second day in a row. Eric and Karla Cotton of Sioux Falls finished third at 159.
Jill Casanova of Sioux Falls had a hole-in-one on the 165-yard 11th hole.
