Brookings police cite more than three-dozen people for underage consumption
after breaking up a party early Sunday morning.
Police Lt. Derrick Powers says police were called with the report of a loud party
at about 12:59 a.m. to the 400 block of Medary Ave.
The residents did not answer the door and refused to let the police enter so
they obtaiend a search warrant. While they were waiting for the warrant,
officers observed people breaking widows in an attempt to flee the house.
After getting the warrant, entry was made and all ID's were checked. Powers
says 38 people were cited for underage drinking and the renter was citied for
common nuisance, underage consumption and disturbing the peace.
