Brookings firefighters battle a blaze at 208 Roundup Circle at Western Estates Wednesday Afternoon. The call came in at about 12:40 p.m. The home is a total loss. Everyone got out safely. Assistant Fire Chief Pete Bolzer believes the fire may have started on the front porch in a can of cigarette butts. Two firefighters received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for precautionary X-rays. The Fire Dept. was at the scene for just over 3 hours.
