SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls police have a suspect in custody in an early morning homicide they say resulted from a domestic dispute.
Authorities say 21-year-old Beverly Guerra was found in an apartment with multiple stab wounds about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, and pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Her 28-year-old boyfriend was in the apartment and was arrested on murder and manslaughter charges. Police allege that the man stabbed Guerra with a kitchen knife during an argument. Formal charges were pending.
Guerra's 3- and 6-year-old children were in a back room. They were put in the custody of social service officials.
