YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - The dean of the graduate school at the
University of North Dakota will be the next president of Mount
Marty College in South Dakota.
The school says Joseph Benoit (ben-WAH') will take the reins of
the Yankton school on July 1.
James Barry resigned in April 2010 as president of the private
Catholic college that has more than 1,000 students. Two candidates
to succeed him turned down the position.
Benoit has been UND's graduate school dean and a professor in
the school's pharmacology department since 2001. Before that he
worked at South Alabama.
