Warm Weather Helps SD Field Work



     SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota farmers made progress
planting crops last week because of warmer weather.
     The Agricultural Statistics Service said in its weekly report
Monday that 93 percent of the corn had been planted but it's still
behind the five-year average of 97 percent.
     Soybeans planting is 57 percent complete, compared to the
average of 81 percent.
     Sunflower planting is 35 percent complete and equal to the
five-year average.
     Feed supplies were rated 93 percent rated adequate to surplus
and stock water was rated 100 percent adequate to surplus.
