Attorney General Says Beware of Scam Artists Near Floods

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Attorney General Marty Jackley is cautioning
South Dakota residents to beware of scam artists in the wake of
widespread flooding.
Jackley says scam artists typically show up after disasters,
posing as charities to collect money from the unwary.
Jackley urges residents to take basic precautions, such as
giving to known charitable groups, and writing a check rather than
donating cash.
