LOWER BRULE, S.D. (AP) - Funeral services are being held this
week in Lower Brule for two South Dakota women who died when their
vehicles were swept off a road that had been washed out by heavy
rainfall.
56-year-old Gwen Michalek of Chamberlain and 61-year-old
Ellen Wright of Lower Brule died last Tuesday after driving into
the washout on a road about 10 miles north of Reliance and being
carried away by the rushing water. Michalek was found about 100
yards away and Wright about four miles away.
The funeral for Michalek is Monday and the service for Wright is
Tuesday.
