SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The man accused of killing a
75-year-old woman in her Sioux Falls home remains in a Wisconsin
jail as authorities work to return him to South Dakota.
James McVay faces first-degree murder and burglary charges for
allegedly entering the home of Maybelle Schein, killing her and
then fleeing in her vehicle. Police located McVay near Madison,
Wis.
McVay allegedly told authorities he "killed an old lady" and wanted
to go to Washington to kill President Barack Obama.
Minnehaha County State's Attorney Aaron McGowan tells says that
McVay could return to Sioux Falls within days if he agrees. Otherwise,
it could take up to 60 days for authorities to process McVay's return.
McGowan says it's premature to discuss whether McVay will face
the death penalty.
