FORT PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Two Fort Pierre brothers made their
initial court appearance in an alleged shooting incident.
The Stanley County Clerk of Courts Office says that
20-year-old Keenan Cornelison is being held on $1,000 bond for
shooting his 23-year-old brother in the arm Tuesday with a
22-caliber rifle. Cornelison has been charged with aggravated
assault and possession of methamphetamine. He is scheduled for a
preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. Friday in Stanley County Circuit
Court.
The shooting victim, 23-year-old Joel Cornelison, drove himself
to the hospital after the incident and was treated and released. He
was arrested on warrants for driving under suspension and failing
to appear in court.
He was sentenced for failure to appear in court and must serve
nine days in county jail.
