MARTIN, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man is recovering after being
injured at an oil rig and rescued by his 7-year-old son.
Thirty-one-year-old Beau Babby says he was working at the
rig north of Martin on June 10 when his truck rolled and pinned him.
He was able to call for help but soon decided he couldn't wait any
longer and needed his son, Brandon, to move the truck.
Babby says he'd always told his son that the "R" on the
gear-shifter stood for racing. So he told Brandon to put the truck
into race gear, and then explained how to use the clutch.
Martin Police Chief Dylan Siscoe says he was stunned that the
child was able to back up the truck. He says he's impressed.
