BURBANK, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man accused of using a
hammer to beat his neighbor's dog to death is scheduled to enter
pleas in two weeks on a felony charge of intentional damage to
property and a misdemeanor charge related to the killing of the
animal.
The arraignment for 61-year-old Robert Kyte of Burbank is set
for Aug. 5.
Kyte is accused of beating the German shorthair pointer to death
in its kennel late last month. He is free on $500 bond. A telephone
listing for him is not in service.
If Kyte is convicted on both charges he could face up to three
years behind bars and fines totaling $7,000.
