     PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a South Dakota state prison
inmate has died as the result of an apparent suicide.
     Beau Reynolds was found unresponsive Friday afternoon in his
room at the state prison in Springfield. He was pronounced dead at
a local hospital.
     The 41-year-old Reynolds was serving a 140-year sentence for a
first-degree manslaughter conviction from Meade County in 1993.
     Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted.
