WASTA, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a motorcycle rider who died
after a crash in western South Dakota might have been struck by
lightning.
The Highway Patrol says witnesses report that a bolt of
lightning hit 57-year-old Kurt Stolba of Wilton, Iowa, before his
motorcycle struck a guard rail on Interstate 90 in Pennington
County.
The patrol says Stolba was thrown from the bike and died on the
way to a Rapid City hospital late Wednesday afternoon.
