A Brookings Industry is marking a milestone this week.
3-M Brookings is celbrating 40 years in existence with
an open house, tours, and a concert.
The plant was opened in 1971 with about 50 workers. It
now employs some 880 people and the annual payroll is
nearly $50-million. The facility now manufactures nearly
1,500 items.
The public is invited to Saturday's open house which will
be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The event will feature tours
of the plant. Saturday evening, 3-M employees and their
guests can attend a concert by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
