A Brookings man convicted on five counts of possession of child porn
is given 70-days in jail and four years on probation.

Twenty-two-year-old Joseph Bryant must also register as a sex offender
and pay $1000 in fines.

States Attorney Clyde Calhoon argued for prison time. He says this case
is different. He says Bryant preyed on girls and encouraged two in Missouri
to provide him with child porn. Calhoun called Bryant a predator on young
girls.

Bryant's lawyer says this is a case of sexting -- kids sending pictures of
themselves to other kids.

Judge David Gienapp says Bryan't actions were totally inappropriate but
did not warrant prison time.

He also told Bryant he cannot use Facebook or any other social media
while on probation and must undergo sex offender treatment.

Bryant was found guilty on all five counts by a Brookings jury last month.
