YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota National Guard soldier who
died in a noncombat accident in Afghanistan is being laid to rest.
Twenty-one-year-old Spc. Dennis Jensen is being buried with full
military honors at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis on
Friday, after a Thursday funeral in Yankton.
Jensen died Aug. 16 from injuries he suffered while working on a
bridge project. Officials say he was struck by two steel panels
that fell from a forklift when a securing strap broke.
Jensen was with the 200th Engineer Company. The unit deployed in
May for a year of duty overseas.
