SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A Sioux Falls woman has had her in-home
day care registration revoked after the death of an infant in her
home.
Connie Edwards is appealing the decision. A hearing is scheduled
Sept. 13.
Four-month-old Meredith Ulmer was found unconscious and not
breathing on June 30 at Edwards' day care, and later pronounced
dead at a hospital. Authorities shut down the day care and
monitored the home while they investigated. The city revoked
Edwards' registration on Aug. 9.
Edwards' day care has been issued four citations this year, for
having too many children and for having unregistered helpers.
A man who answered the phone at Edwards' home Tuesday and
identified himself as her husband said she had no immediate
comment.
