Ellsworth Airman Killed in Virginia

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A 22-year-old airman at the Ellsworth
Air Force Base was shot and killed early Wednesday in Hampton, Va.
Senior Airman Richard Redick, Jr. was on leave in Virginia when the
incident occurred, according to a news release from Ellsworth Air
Force Base. He was due back in South Dakota in mid-September.
Redick, a sortie support journeyman from Newport News, Va.,
apparently argued with a man inside a Hampton apartment. When the
argument moved outside, the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and shot
Redick. Redick died at the scene.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old man.
