PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Three hundred high school students from
across South Dakota will spend Wednesday in Pierre removing
sandbags.
The statewide community service project to clean up sandbags in
Pierre, Fort Pierre and Dakota Dunes is a partnership between the
South Dakota Student Council Association and the South Dakota High
School Activities Association.
James Weaver with SDHAA says the project is designed to get
students actively involved in their state community.
He says the students will provide more than 1,500 man hours in
the clean-up effort.
