Rapid City Man Pleads Guilty to Mailing Painkillers

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A 60-year-old Rapid City man has
admitted hiding painkillers in a box of Valentine's candy he mailed
to a prospective buyer.
Clement Shaw Jr. pleaded guilty Monday to distribution of a
controlled substance. He faces a maximum sentence of five years in
prison.
Prosecutors say Shaw received $400 via a Western Union wire in
exchange for hydrocodone pills. The package was intercepted in the
mail.
Shaw's bond was recently revoked after he was charged with
disorderly conduct for an incident at the Fort Meade Veterans
Affairs Medical Center.
