RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man who sold a powerful
painkiller that led to an overdose death has been sentenced to 10
years in prison.
Robert Fischer, of Lead, was charged with second-degree
manslaughter and distribution of a controlled substance.
Authorities say the 59-year-old Fischer sold Fentanyl to
42-year-old Tom Bennett, of Sturgis, for $25. Bennett was found
dead in a Deadwood house on Jan. 27.
An autopsy identified that cause of death as a Fentanyl overdose.
