SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - An 18-year-old South Dakota has pleaded
guilty to assaulting a federal officer.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Maka Akan Inaji Frazier, of
Dupree, pleaded guilty to assaulting and intimidating a Ziebach
County Sheriff on June 3.
Prosecutors say Frazier struck the sheriff's patrol car during a
pursuit, causing it to go into a ditch.
The sheriff was assisting law enforcement officers with the
Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
Sentencing for Frazier has been set for Dec. 6. He faces eight
years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both.
