SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Two inmates accused of killing a South
Dakota State Penitentiary officer are scheduled to appear in court
Friday.
Rodney Berget and Eric Robert are charged with first-degree
murder in the death of 63-year-old Ronald Johnson in April during a
failed escape attempt.
Judge Bradley Zell will hear several motions concerning the trial for the
two men, including a change of venue request.
State prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
