SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Office of School and
Public Lands has auctioned off a tranche of oil and gas leases
worth more than $500,000.
The agency says the lease of 66,938 acres of trust land in
northwestern South Dakota will bring in $520,994 for public schools
and endowed institutions.
All but four of the 189 lots were leased to Bedrock Oil & Gas of Boerne,
Texas. State records show the company is not listed as an active
driller in South Dakota.
