Family of 7 Escapes Fire

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A Sioux Falls family of seven escaped
unharmed from a house fire thought to have been started by a lit
candle in a child's bedroom.
Crews found smoke and flames coming from a corner bedroom on the main
floor of the home at about 2 a.m. Monday.
Michelle Hoier, her husband and their five children were out of
the house by the time firefighters arrived.
Hoier says the fire started in her daughter's bedroom. The young
girl woke to flames in her room and on her door. She jumped out the
window and ran to a nearby house for help. Neighbors then pounded
on the front door and woke the rest of the family.
