Coyote Hung From Billboard

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - A University of South Dakota marketing official says
there aren't any plans to take down a new billboard near Brookings after what
appeared to be a dead coyote was hung from a rope on it Tuesday.
The billboard features a picture of a coyote chasing a jackrabbit and the date
of next year's football game between South Dakota and South Dakota State.
USD's nickname is the coyotes, and SDSU's moniker is the jackrabbits. The
billboard states, "Have an old friend for dinner."
USD Marketing Director Bob Fitzpatrick says the billboard is meant to celebrate
the football rivalry. He says the school puts the incident in the category of "an ugly
prank" and hopes it doesn't happen again.
