RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The trial date for a 29-year-old Rapid
City woman accused of stabbing her aunt to death has been pushed
back a couple of days.
The start of the trial for Heidi Waloke has been moved from Oct. 31
to Nov. 3 to accommodate prosecution witnesses, despite the
objections of defense attorney Tom Diggins. The judge set aside six
days for the trial.
Waloke faces alternate counts of murder and manslaughter in the
May 23 death of 38-year-old Jada Jeunesse (JUH'-nees) of Pine Ridge
in a Rapid City apartment. Police say the two had argued after a
day of drinking. Waloke has pleaded not guilty.
