RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A 60-year-old South Dakota woman accused
of shooting her husband has been sentenced to serve about two
months in prison.
Evelyn Hunsaker initially was charged with attempted murder in
the August 2010 shooting of Michael Hunsaker in their Keystone
home, but she pleaded guilty in September to a lesser charge of
being an accessory to a felony. She will be on probation for five
years.
Michael Hunsaker has maintained that his wife did not shoot him,
despite evidence from ballistics experts.
Evelyn Hunsaker also was ordered to complete 500 hours of
community service and she must meet several terms of probation,
including a mental health evaluation.
